Will there be home page later on?

Will there be a link to David's website?

Well, www.starfisthq.org remains the home page; this is simply the forum site. There are no plans to eliminate the main site, although it will certainly be improved/upgraded.

As far as links to David's site, this will continue to be on the home page, and as soon as I work out how to do it, and if this software supports it, I expect to put a few links here, and this would include a link to the main site and David's site.

Have you thought of checking out http://www.templatemonster.com and seeing if they have a template that you can use to revamp the mainpage? :ugeek:

Two other things needs to be address.

1. After posting our reply, can we have a button that directs us back to the subtopics. I don't want to click board index every time.

Ex:

"Board Index< Starfist HQ< Suggestion Box

Your reply has been posted successfully."

2. Where can I find my draft post? If i click save? Save option needs some improvement

After you've submitted your post, in a couple of seconds you will be directed back to the topic (unless you click on the other options that show up temporarily). Once you are back in the topic, you will find a "bread crumb" trail at the top of the page. The subtopic will be one of the "crumbs".

You can see at the top of the page a link to "User Control Panel". Click on that, and you will see on the Overview tab, the Manage Drafts subtab (it's below and on the left). Click that and you will see a list of all your drafts. You can select a draft to edit by clicking on the link to it, and after editing it you can save it again. To post your draft, note the link "Load draft" a bit to the right (under the column marked "Saved At"). Click on that, and you can now edit the draft with the option to Submit at the bottom.

Sorry it isn't the clearest thing in the world, but with software this complex, I guess the user interface designers have to make compromies sometimes.

Keep in mind that the software we're using for the board is "commercial off the shelf", and while we have control over many configuration items, the basic workings of the board are not always something we can control.

Ok i'll test it out. Ok test it out. One suggestion is say "please wait for 5 seconds to return back to the topic.

I meant earlier is that if I want to post something in the sub topic of Starfist HQ. I don't have option to click on Starfist HQ after I finished posting my post.

After everybody attempted to defend the authors after my last post.
I got to thinking maybe Skink and I could be the really bad guys and post a bunch of evil nasty and just plain unfriendly scenarios for all of you to solve.

Well the skinks did get a bunch of stuff onto haulover didn't they?

Also they managed to hit Force recon's hooch on haulover.

Just imagine if they steal a copy of Sun Tzu's art of war.

And then read it...

Or we could introduce the "old (man) skink of the mountains" and his merry band of soul stealers.

Like skinks gome wild, the multiworld raids.

Skink war trials " skinks never betrayed their principals for a percentage".

and the don't ask don't tell chronicles the further adventures of a gay skink in combat.
" marines are not all bad, they just have bad fashon taste!"

Berkley California skink - "I'm avoiding the draft I could catch cold and die."

Nearsighted skink - "Frront twords ennnemy"

Science Skink - "What are we going to do tonight? same thing we do every night try and take over the universe".

Maybe we could demoralize them with "Akmed the dead skink pupets".

Actually, I don't think they (we?) were defending the authors so much as wondering if you were as conversant with the Starfirst universe as you needed to be for some of the comments you made. We've had at least one other poster come on board and post complaints about things that didn't really seem all that problematic, or even correct.

Now, as to your remarks on this board so far, if it need be said, you come across as quite insightful and knowledgable. In fact, if it hadn't been for you I would probably be still deeply puzzled as to what the overall Skink strategy (or apparent lack thereof) was. It was like, bang. "Oh, ho! So that's how it is!"

Of course, the insight may be wrong, which wouldn't be first time I thought I understood how the Universe worked but didn't really.

I, for one, am glad you're on the board!
